Introduction
Located in the historic village of Montesquiou in south-west France, the old, charming, hospitable house (affectionately called “The Ruin” by the family) is adjacent to XII-century ramparts which form its south-west wall, with magnificent and unspoiled views of the valley, rolling hills, and sunflower fields. On a clear day, snowy peaks of the Pyrénées mountain range emerge on the south horizon.
Enjoy the sun setting over the valley from the terrace, with a glass of local wine or Armagnac in hand. Rich history and cultural heritage are evident at every step. Great restaurants and foods, wine and Armagnac tasting, numerous recreational activities, and finally, and exiting events such as international jazz festival Jazz in Marciac, provide unique opportunities for great vacation for all family members regardless of age.
Our home is currently available for summer exchanges. See our listing at https://www.homeexchange.com, keyword Montesquiou.
Maison de la porte fortifiée, lovely Bed and Breakfast across the street, is open year round. See website http://www.porte-fortifiee.eu/.
